Wade Hampton Community, Personal Yard Décor
The natural landscape of Wade Hampton is comprised of a variety of natural elements, including
native trees, shrubs and plants, weathered rock outcroppings and forest-reclaimed fallen trees and
tree stumps. The combination of these and certain other elements create the mountain aesthetic
which provides beauty and continuity throughout the community, including in the areas along the
roadsides in front of homes.
In order to preserve that visual continuity, the POA encourages homeowners to maintain a natural
buffer in front of their homes along the roadsides. Locations set back from the road are preferred
for personal decorative objects such as sculpture, yard art, birdhouses and decorative flags.
Vegetation and hardscape features such as fence sections, stone walls and entrance pillars
occasionally extend into the POA right-of-way along the roads, but homeowners should be
aware that any installation within the platted right-of-way is at risk of damage during
authorized work in the road shoulder.
Seasonal holiday displays such as pumpkins and Christmas décor are welcome throughout
the community during the holiday period but should be removed in a timely fashion following
the holiday.
Preserving the natural beauty of the mountains within Wade Hampton enhances property
values and contributes to quality of life for everyone within the community. Thank you for
supporting this endeavor.
